Imagemap Converter Test Page

This small utility program will convert server-side imagemaps to client-side imagemaps.

There is now a Java/Swing version of this program.

This the first beta version of the program and I am looking for server-side imagemap files to test it with. If you have any server-side map files, please send them to me (chris.ridpath@utoronto.ca).

Click here to download this program. To run the program you must first unzip the 'ImagemapConverter' package. Then select the 'ServerToClient' program.

This program runs under the Windows operating system only at this time. The server-side imagemap should be stored in a '.map' file. The client-side imagemap can be saved to a '.html' file and then incorporated into the HTML page where it is needed. Following is a screen shot of the program dialog:

• Load the server-side imagemap by selecting the 'Load Server-side Map File' button located at the top left of the dialog. You will be prompted to load a '.map' file. (There are several '.map' files included as examples.)
• The contents of the map file are displayed in the top window of the dialog.
• The client-side imagemap HTML code is displayed in the bottom window of the dialog.
• Save the client-side imagemap file by selecting the 'Save Client-side Map File' button located at the top right of the dialog. You will be prompted to store the imagemap in a '.html' file.
